My vet has always said dry is better. When did this change?
I learned today that little carrot sticks can offer a great crunchy and dental cleanliness treat! I am in the process of creating a healthy diet for both myself and my cats. They’ll never miss the junk food! Only the good stuff for my babies!
DUDE…..My cat will not eat WET FOOD! I would love to take the dry food away! I know about the evils of dry food I’m well acquainted, I had a male back when I didn’t know any better and I fed him nothing but dry food for 3 years and he got a complete urinary blockage. I’m feeding six cats and five of them eat wet food but one of them absolutely will not eat wet food and I have tried everything! What do I do with her is I give her wet treats at least twice a day. I also pour the liquid off of a can of cat food into a tiny bowl and mix it with some water so she gets more hydration. So unfortunately the other five cats are also eating dry food along with their wet food, because I can’t take it away from my one cat that only eats dry.
What’s wrong with dried food
my 14 yo old feline who has been fixed at 6 months old. her belly hasa little pouch and i notice her butt is getting thick. but her back and legs are still skinny, and i can feel her ribs as well. vet says shes a well fed cat but not fat. and for her age is very strong and full of vitality. they have to make her woozy to do health checks and trim her 10 daggers. She has full bowls of dry food all day, never see her over eat, or she will take a few bites and go away. She also has access to a closed off yard with 100 yards of territory. lots of birds and insects here and friendly people.
we loive 400 families in a 3×3 story buildings, its from 30s really nice neighborhood, only 15 mins away from city center, but with nature and wildlife. she used to roam all the town, and sometimes come home after weeks, but now shes older and only in this small confined space. The vet is also impressed how healthy she is. only issue she could find was a broken tooth which they took out.
